Choosing Your Reception Furniture

Every office must take preparations to ensure that their waiting room is equipped with comfortable and sturdy reception furniture. First, reception furniture must be practical. This ensures that if wait times are extended, your patrons will be comfortable and have easy access to tables, magazine racks, and coat hooks or racks. Patrons should never feel that they are uncomfortable or that by sitting in reception furniture that they have injured their backs or caused unnecessary strain to joints. Children also like to sit on the seat bench and they are a versatile addition to the reception room.

It’s also important to make sure that your office provides sufficient room for children in the reception area. This area should include a place for children to sit, child sized reception furniture, and plenty of books and toys to keep children occupied. The area devoted to children should have safety plugs in the outlets and any electrical cords should be out of reach. Reception tables that display brochures and literature should be placed high enough that young children won’t be able to reach up and topple them over. When choosing reception furniture, you should make certain that the furniture is easy to clean and disinfect. Making sure that the your reception furniture matches and complements the other furniture. Color choice plays an important role in furniture selection and it is a good idea to pay close attention to the styles selected. The color of walls should be a light neutral color, but if you choose furniture that is the same tone or hue, you run the risk of having your furniture look as if it blends into the wall.
